Key features

This 20 credit module is a core module for the MSc Advanced Professional Practice (Nursing and Midwifery Professions) and (Clinical Practitioner) route in addition to other pathways within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
It will allow you to look at, critically analyse and evaluate the principles of advancing clinical practice and prepare you for your learning journey on your masters. You will study alongside health professionals from different disciplines and healthcare settings, adding a unique richness to this learning opportunity.
You will develop a critical understanding of the current issues that impact service delivery and how advancing practice influences the provision of high-quality, patient-centred care whilst also ensuring that the right care is delivered by the right clinician at the right time.
You will also have the opportunity to consider the legal and ethical boundaries, working environment and complexities of your own practice.
Within the taught component of the module, there will be input from visiting lecturers, clinicians, and managers from the health sector to offer practical, pragmatic insights and promote active discussion.
