About Yogang
My research focuses on Marine Robotics and Autonomous Marine Systems, with particular emphasis on AI-enabled guidance, navigation and control, intelligent decision-making, digital twins, and autonomous sensing. I am interested in developing the theoretical and computational foundations of autonomy and translating these into experimentally validated robotic systems. My research spans modelling and simulation, control and AI algorithms, digital-twin environments, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and field validation using autonomous surface and underwater vehicles.
A key theme of my work is bridging the gap between theory and real-world autonomy, developing methods that can operate reliably in uncertain, dynamic and poorly structured marine environments. I am particularly interested in autonomous environmental monitoring, multi-vehicle coordination, edge intelligence, and safe and trustworthy autonomy.
