Our mission: The School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNAM) delivers impactful and innovative nursing and midwifery education and research which transforms care for the benefit of all who utilise and work within care services locally, nationally and internationally.
Quality education and research: Our nursing and midwifery courses are routinely ranked in the higher positions of UK University league tables e.g. in 2023, nursing courses were ranked 13th out of 78 institutions (Complete University Guide) with midwifery ranked 6th in the UK (Guardian UK University rankings). The Research Excellence Framework 2021 (REF2021) results confirmed our position as a dynamic research institution in the UK. Students also benefit from inter-disciplinary learning and research opportunities, drawing on the breadth of healthcare and medical courses delivered at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³», including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and medicine.
